MEMBERSHIP
Membership through an RSL Sub-Branch will ensure that:
- The Ex-Service and Serving community will continue to have a voice through a strong and vibrant RSL;
- Remembrance is kept alive; and
- the sacrifices of our servicemen and women will never be forgotten.
To be eligible for membership of the RSL (WA Branch), you need to have served in one of the following areas:
- Any person who has served in any of the Australian Defence Forces in either of the two World Wars or in any theatre of conflict.
- Any person who has served for not less than six months in the Regular or Reserve Forces of the ADF, or of any country not an enemy of Australia. Shorter service can also qualify if discharge was honourable and for reasons beyond the individual’s control.
- Any Australian citizen who has served overseas for not less than six months as a member of an approved Peacekeeping force.
- Any Australian or allied citizen who served with or in support of the ADF or Allied Forces in any theatre of conflict or during World War II, as a member of the Australian Women’s Land Army or a Voluntary Aid Detachment in a Military of Convalescent Hospital.

As a member of the RSL, you belong to an organisation which:
- provides you with vital advocacy services and support for all current and ex-serving ADF personnel, no matter how young or old you are. The RSL can assist you in accessing military benefits and entitlements at any stage of your service, free of charge;
- We strongly support servicemen and women from:
- All conflicts, campaigns and peacekeeping missions
- All those who have served in the Reserves or part-time for the ADF
- All those who may not have been deployed operationally overseas during their service.
- is involved in youth initiatives such as Cadet of the Year
The RSL is run at a grass roots, local sub branch level throughout Australia. Whether you are currently serving or recently discharged, your local RSL sub branch will offer you support, mateship and a friendly hand when you need it most.
